James Madison MS is very excited to share with you a new campaign, Project Welcome, that UCLA Undergraduate Admissions is launching. It is aimed to reach students in grades 8-11 (We urge 6th and 7th graders to join as well) who are academically motivated and those who may not realize that college is in their future, such as students who may be the first in their family to pursue a higher education or come from disadvantaged backgrounds. Project Welcome is an SMS text based campaign to engage younger students and motivate them to aspire to college. UCLA Undergraduate Admission will send up to four text messages each month in parallel with e-mails consisting of college tips. You may also access their dynamic website, ucla.edu/getcredit, for a wide range of college-readiness information to guide you as you progress from middle school to high school. We invite you to sign up for this program to receive prep tips by texting “LEARN” to 82521 (data rates may apply) or by going to ucla.edu/getcredit.  Please see Ms. Altounian in the Counseling Office.
